La Deli Vita
Not many things in life make me happier than a good Italian sandwich. Whether it's the alchemy of cool, creamy mozzerella with fresh vegetables and salty cured meats, or the comforting warmth of a chicken parm hero on a cold day, these classics are my comfort food. Sadly, the Italian deli, for decades a staple of the New York lunch hour, has become something of an endangered species.
I designed La Deli Vita to catalogue the best of these mom-and-pop shops across the Five Boroughs and beyond, and to provide some 21st century publicity for an authentic, unique and delicious culinary culture that foodie hype somehow forgot. As an added benefit, I get to eat some of the best sandwiches on the planet.
